ExperienceAs a tutor and teacher, I realize that the profession is about finding out what the student really cares about. I can approach any subject from that perspective, which has worked for every grade I teach. I've taught English from 6th to 12th grade and there's something I like about teaching each of those grades and everything in between. Subjects I will tutor include writing, literature, grammar, essay editing, and English in general but my 12th grade classes are of particular interest. Those students require help in preparing for the SAT and in writing their college application essays.None of the students I have taught state test preparation to have failed. Also, I've had at least two students in each class score perfectly.I find the best part of teaching is, no matter what I'm teaching or reading, my students find ways to teach something new in what I already know. While working on my teaching degree in Harvard, I learned how important the connection really is between what matters and how to teach a subject to a student. I attended Boston College as well. Now residing in Lakeville, Massachusetts, I enjoy gardening, crafts, and old house restoration in my spare time.
