Education

I'm currently a senior at Bridgewater State University, and I'm currently carrying a 3.6 GPA. I am majoring in English. I attended a private elementary school. From sixth to twelfth grade, I was homeschooled. In my high school years, I became dual enrolled at the local public school and took art and math classes there. Since graduating high school and enrolling in college in 2010, I've transferred multiple times, lived in multiple states, and taken time off from school. I feel that these things, although nontraditional, have enhanced my education immensely, and have given me a broader view of life and the people I encounter along the way.

Experience

I want to tutor for the same reason I want to teach after graduation: I love helping students refine their reading and writing skills so that they can use these skills not only to pass classes, but to carry them into the real world. I tutored at a community center in an underprivileged area in Louisiana for a semester, and I really enjoyed my time there. I have been taking classes on teaching reading and writing along with a rounded literature course load.

Hobbies

My husband is a youth pastor at a small church in Taunton. I help him teach our group of middle school-aged children on Sunday mornings, which I really enjoy. I was once an art major, and still dabble in a little photography. Writing is my passion, and I'm always striving to become a better writer. I enjoy reading, even though it has never come easy for me. Reading takes work, but the work is always worth it.
