EducationSophomore Secondary Education and History major with a Spanish minor at Emmanuel College. GPA - 3.2
ExperiencePreviously, I tutored at a local elementary school every Saturday for two years in MCAS math competency, Spanish Comprehension and Literacy, and Art. I have also worked this past summer at an elementary summer program where the children learned social studies, literacy, computer skills, and basic math. At this program I also coordinated the class play about Ancient Rome. This year I worked at a K-8 private Catholic school as a teacher assistant in Art and in Earth Science. Additionally I have been tutoring at a local parish for 4 hours a week in basic math, social studies, literacy, language arts, and writing. I scored a 1740 on my SATs and I achieved a 5 on my Advanced Placement United State History Exam as well as a 4 on my English Language and Composition Advanced Placement Exam. I want to be a tutor because education is extremely important to me, and if a person is struggling with understanding a subject or a concept, I want to be able to assist that person in gaining the knowledge and the confidence that it takes to excel in a field. As a future educator, I think it is significant to comprehend that not every student learns at the same pace, and I want to ensure that I can provide excellence in teaching students and learning with them. My course work at Emmanuel includes Education:A Great American Experiment, Adolescent Psychology, Child's Play in New England Culture, Intermediate Spanish I, Intermediate Spanish II, American Studies, History Through Fiction:East Asia, and United State History Since 1877.
